Dolce & Gabbana, connoisseurs of all things leopard-print, opened a flagship at 155 Mercer Street in SoHo. The goth-tinged store is strewn with baroque armchairs, scintillating metallic brick, and – true to form – perhaps a few leopard spots too many. Inspired by NYC youth culture, the three-storied space is christened by the label’s exclusive Mercer capsule collection – complete with leopard pumps, accessories, handbags, and graffiti-adorned sneakers. Stage lights, along with purple, green, and aqua neon tubes complete the space’s ultra-hip club kid aesthetic. The store – built in a 19th-century firehouse – has had its cast-iron facade fully restored.
