For Drome, the Upcycled Project comes from a reflection on the future of fashion and its sustainability, the necessity to reconsider its evolution, production processes, and environmental impact. The result of this reflection is a limited-edition capsule collection where every piece is made from existing garments, vintage items, and recovered materials.
The collection is entirely handcrafted by local seamstresses in Tuscany using fabrics and leathers from their stock, revising old Drome styles and mixing them with second-hand items. For example recovered vintage men’s blazer jackets have been deconstructed and reassembled using existing stock fabrics, keeping the same aesthetic features but acquiring a new structure and a renewed cut.
This project, taken on by Drome, is yet another example of the fashion industries ever-growing commitment to the environment. As more companies follow suit, we imagine a future where fashion works with, not against, nature.
