Lisa Gersh Departs Alexander Wang as CEO After one year as head of Alexander Wang, Chief Executive Officer Lisa Gersh is exiting the company. Founder and Designer Alexander Wang will take over her responsibilities on an interim basis as the company searches for their next CEO. Prior to going Alexander Wang, Gersh served as CEO for other companies including goop.com, Martha Stewart Living. Before that, she was President of Strategic Initiatives at NBC Universal, and prior to that she was Co-Founder, President, and Chief Operating Officer at Oxygen Media.
Louis Vuitton Taps Catherine Lacase as Head of Watches and Jewelry Catherine Lacaze has been appointed the new Head of Watches and Jewelry at Louis Vuitton. Lacaze joins the company from Tiffany & Co. where she was VP of North American Marketing. Prior to Tiffany & Co., Lacaze was at Harry Winston and Cartier before that, however she also started her own marketing consulting firm between the two endeavors, Of the Essence LLC. Lacaze’s move to Louis Vuitton reunites her with her former Creative Director at Tiffany & Co., Francesca Amfitheatrof, who joined Louis Vuitton as Artistic Director of Watches and Jewelry last year.
Smythson Names Xavier Rougeaux as CEO Xavier Rougeaux has been appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of English luxury goods company Smythson. Rougeaux joins from Loro Piana where he was Company Communications Director, and before that he was Marketing and Commercial Director at Valextra. This is now Rougeaux’s first time at Smythson, having served as Chief Commercial Officer from 2012-2015.
Ganni Taps Andrea Baldo as CEO Andrea Baldo is joining Ganni as their next Chief Executive Officer. Previously, Baldo was at Coccinelle where he was also CEO. Before that, he worked managerial marketing positions at different fashion labels including Marni, Diesel, Maison Margiela, In his new position, Ganni will be succeeding the company’s founder, Nicolaj Reffstrup.
Deciem Removes Brandon Truaxe as CEO Founder and Chief Executive Officer of skin care company Deciem, Brandon Truaxe, is leaving the company. This change comes after the Estée Lauder Companies, which owns 28% of Truaxe’s company, applied for an injunction to remove Truaxe after he posted an Instagram demanding the company shut down. An Ontario Superior Court Judge granted the motion.
Wilson Weizhong Zhu Joins Li & Fung as COO Li & Fung has tapped Wilson Weizhong Zhu as their Chief Operating Officer. Previously, Zhu worked operational positions across a number of retailers including Gymboree, Michael’s Stores, Office Depot and Hudson Bay Company.
Endeavor Taps Kerry D. Chandler as Chief Human Resource Officer Kerry D. Chandler is joining Endeavor as their new Chief Human Resource Officer. Chandler joins from Under Armour where she held the same position as Chief HR Officer. Prior to Under Armor, Chandler held HR positions at numerous companies including Christie’s, the NBA, The Walt Disney Company, IBM, and Motorola.
Vogue‘s Entertainment Director Jill Demling Departs
After 20 years at Conde Nast, Jill Demling is parting ways with the firm as Vogue‘s Entertainment Director to pursue outside projects. Demling has been responsible for securing cover celebrity talent, video series 73 Questions, and the Met Gala events and others.
Financial Times Hires Alexander Fury as Menswear Critic Alexander Fury has been appointed Menswear Critic at Financial Times. Alongside this new responsibility, Fury will maintain his position as Fashion Features Director at Another Magazine. His first season with Financial Times will be in January 2019.
Keesha Jean-Baptiste Joins Hearst Magazine as SVP, Human Resources Hearst Magazines has appointed Keesha Jean-Baptiste as SVP of Human Resources. Previously, Jean-Baptiste was at the American Associates of Advertising Agencies acting as their SVP of Talent, Engagement, and Inclusion Prior to that, she was Wieden + Kennedy for 6 years most recently serving as their Director of HR and Talent at their Portland, Oregon Office.
Buro 24/7 Appoints Crystal Malachias to Group Commercial Director Crystal Malachias has been tapped by Buro 24/7 as their new Group Commercial Director. Prior to joining Buro, Malachias was Digital Group Head at Hearst UK, and before that she was UK Sales and Brand Partnerships Director at Refinery29.
