Fendi’s Creative Director, Silvia Venturini Fendi, put ‘men-on-the-go’ at the core of Fendi’s Fall 2018 ad campaign this season to reflect the speed of today and the global view of the house.
To put those wheels in notice the designer enlisted photographer Daniel Sannwald and stylist Julian Ganio. Models Ben Sherrell, Jeenu Mahadevan, and Joaquim Arnell are set agains the canary yellow of a Fendi checkered cab which tie the campaign the right sense of ‘pop’ the logo inspired collection needed.
Men’s often takes a backseat to women’s campaigns and it is nice to see a men’s campaign with an inkling of a concept behind it. Far too often men’s houses themselves stay too focused on product over that of narrative and lose the art of storytelling. And as on display here, one can see it doesn’t have to be that deep of a story, but it does help that the creative director does have a point of view. Here is to hoping other learn how to ‘follow that cab.’
