The Fashion Institute of Technology and the FIT Foundation are set to hold its Annual Awards Gala at Cipriani on 42nd Street on June 14.
Actress Stephanie March will host the Gala, where FIT will honor IMG Models President Ivan Bart, Estée Lauder Group President Jane Hertzmark Hudis, and Rosenthal & Rosenthal Managing Director J. Michael Stanley.
Bart, who contributed to The Impression’s Film Issue, will be presented with the Social Impact Award by model Carolyn Murphy. Bart is being recognized for his creativity and for his contribution to the modern definition of beauty.
Hudis will receive the Vanguard Award for leadership, innovation and for her time as director of the FIT Foundation and a member of the school’s Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing and Management graduate program industry advisory board.
Finally, Rebecca Minkoff and Uri Minkoff will present the Breakthrough Award to Stanley, who is being honored for his leadership in the retail and apparel industries and for his time as director of the FIT foundation.
Many individuals and businesses in the fashion industry have been honored at FIT’s annual black tie event since 1985. Past honorees include Terry Lundgren in 2017 and 2010, William Lauder and William Dillard in 2012, Bill Blass in 2004, Bergdorf Goodman in 1995, Conde Nast Publications in 1992, Saks Fifth Avenue in 1991 and the New York Times in 1990.
