Gucci Gets Creative With Their New Cruise Runway Video

Talk about synergy! Gucci is making the most of their 2016 cruise show by morphing together two aspects key in selling fashion today: runway and telling a story.

Gucci’s New York City Cruise Runway Show 2016 video not only previews their new line, but also encompasses a whole story into it. If creative directors Alessandro Michele and Christopher Simmonds wanted to wow us with something different, mission accomplished!

Set in the streets of New York, the video opens with model Lia Pavlova strutting the sidewalk, with a full body shot in one of Gucci’s new looks. She then makes eye contact with a young man who starts following her around, obviously infatuated with her. He can’t keep up, so the boy starts running after her, eventually getting stopped behind a fence with guards blocking him. But that doesn’t hold him back, his admiration for this mystery girl causes him to hop the fence and continue after her, and into a garage that happens to be the 2016 Gucci NYC fashion show.gucci resort 2016 new grok streets photo

He sits down in a seat when he realizes that people are here to watch something, he is about to see a fashion show. Opening the show, Pavlova comes walking out, models following behind her, crossing the street into the venue, and it begins. When it’s over, the boy is the only one left in the room, amazed as to what he just saw and wondering where the girl is.Gucci Video

We don’t know about you, but we here at The Impression think the integrating of two important factors in the industry was a genius idea, and extremely innovative. This makes us even more excited to see what Gucci comes up with next!
