Hedi Slimane Reveals Celine Show Location

Celine | Hedi Slimane Reveal Show Location

Now that Riccardo Tisci has wrapped his highly anticipated debut at Burberry, all eyes are turned toward Hedi Slimane as the fashion flock awaits his debut for Celine at Paris Fashion Week on September 28.

The house has been slowly pulling back the curtain to reveal a string of hints at what is to come including a new name sans accent, a cleaner logo, a clean slate Instagram page, a de-activated Celine’s e-commerce platform, an ongoing photo series lensed by Slimane himself, a first handbag spotted on Lady Gaga and Angeline Jolie, and now the former Saint Laurent Creative Designer has just unveiled a new location.

Announcing the news via Instagram, Slimane’s debut show will take place at one of the city’s most symbolic buildings, the Hôtel des Invalides. Situated on the Left Bank of the Seine, the historic location was founded in 1671 by Louis XIV , the Sun King. He wanted to provide accommodation for disabled and commissioned an extensive complex structures and courtyards designed for the care and housing of disabled veterans and as a place of worship. Parts of Les Invalides were later converted into museums and into tombs for Napoleon I and others.

The location also shares history with Slimane as he staged his Fall 2014 menswear show for Saint Laurent at the same location. And it would appear Hedi Slimane and Celine are ready to add more history to the house.
