IMG And The Black In Fashion Council Team To Support Black Fashion Talent at NYFW, LA, & Globally

IMG and the Black in Fashion Council (BIFC) form a three-season alliance to champion Black fashion talent across the Americas and Europe

On the heels of the successful debuted at NYFW: The Shows in September 2020, IMG is expanding its support of the BIFC through bicoastal curated showrooms this February in both New York and Los Angeles. These expanded showrooms will provide a platform for the discovery of Black designers, with plans to expand this offering to Europe in future seasons.

The BIFC will contribute to NYFW: The Talks on NYFW.com, highlighting its programming and engaging discussions with voices that are moving fashion forward.

“IMG is thrilled to announce an expanded partnership with the Black in Fashion Council following the success of our collaboration last September. We are committed to working with their leadership and leveraging our resources to support their mission of amplifying Black talent in fashion, not only in New York – but now in LA, and next globally,” commented Leslie Russo, President, Fashion Events and Properties, IMG.

Continuing our partnership with IMG was integral to the Black in Fashion Council because we experienced incredible success with our discovery showroom last September. Expanding the opportunities for BIPOC designers this season, both in New York and Los Angeles, directly changes the trajectory publicly and financially of creatives throughout this pandemic. With ten designers in New York and five in Los Angeles, as well as a mix of womenswear, menswear, and accessories brands, we are so excited to put a spotlight on such talented individuals and continue to make inclusivity top of mind
