Every once in a while a campaign comes along that is a rare combination of the right team, idea, and execution that reminds us of how good things come in threes.
For the latest ad campaign by Parisian high priestess of casual chic, Isabel Marant, the designer has teamed with photographer Juergen Teller, and artistic director Franck Durand to instill a chic spirit to the houses Fall 2018 campaign. Teller is one of those rare artisans whose work can sometimes lean in too close to the art world while tilting away from the luxury that is fashion. Here the threesome of the chic designer, focused art director, and whimsical photographer balance each other out like the solid footing of the best of tripods.
Then there is the idea; a mash-up of casual chic, art, and Paris. Tellers fly-by photography is well suited for the Paris landmark art gallery, the Pompidou Centre, and it’s myriad of props to play off of. Which models Anna Ewers and Vittoria Ceretti take full advantage of the museums iconic plexiglass tubes, escalators, and playful street fountain. All the while Durand is wise enough to give the pop-movement of a space a pop of candy apple red in the logo.
The result is a fresh and spacious campaign that is designed to pop, resonate, and give pause. Three solid deliverables from the threesome in fine form.
