Kolor Presents Fall 2021 Collection with Photos by Daido Moriyama

Photoshoot by Renowned Street Photographer Daido Moriyama for Kolor in Tokyo

Since its founding in 2004, Kolor has been presenting its seasonal mood through its look books, videos, and runway shows.

In order to convey new dimensions of their Fall 2021 collection, Kolor has collaboratred with world-renowned street photographer Daido Moriyama, an artist who influenced and inspired Kolor designer Junichi Abe.

The project is named “撮”, whose Chinese character means “(photo) shooting”.

Daido Moriyama is well-known for his snapshots of street scenes, and it is a rare occasion for him to collaborate with a fashion brand. The photoshoot took place at the new Kolor atelier in Tokyo. Surrounded by many elements representing the spirit of Kolor, Daido Moriyama shot the collection with complete creative freedom and captured moments as his feelings guided.

In any day and age, Photography has always been at the forefront of word’s mode.

Daido Moriyama’s new vision of the Kolor Fall 2021 Collection was first presented during Paris Menʼs Fashion Week in January 2021, and the collection exists here powerfully within his photographs.

It was a great honour to collaborate with Daido Moriyama, a legend for me and many others. I was pleased to see Kolor through his eyes and I hope many people will enjoy this experience.”

— Junichi Abe, Designer and Founder of Kolor

The 43 photos for this project will be exhibited at 8 stores in Asia starting from October 16th, including Kolorʼs flagship in Japan, as well as stores in Seoul, Korea and in Taiwan.
