Review of Lauren Ralph Lauren Holiday 2021 Ad Campaign by Art Director Beth Lauren and Photographer Liz Collins with Models Lily Aldridge & Joan Smalls
Lauren Ralph Lauren welcomes holiday coziness with an elegant new campaign by art director Beth Lauren and photographer Liz Collins.
The campaign features the same stars – Lily Aldridge and Joan Smalls – and location – a sophisticated and light-filled manor house – as the Lauren line’s Fall 2021 campaign, and continues to develop its mood of cozy elegance with a joyful holiday twist.
Much of the campaign’s palpable sense of holiday warmth is provided by the styling itself, which ranges from cozy tartan pajamas to fleece jackets, statement pieces like red velvet and animal prints, and sophisticated suiting and evening wear.
The timeless holiday colors of these pieces are carried across the set decoration through botanicals like red roses, poinsettias, and pines.
The characters embodied by Aldridge and Smalls seem pretty clearly to be more than friends; the film’s reverent and musical depiction of their quiet, joyful moments together makes it seem like they don’t want to be with anyone else this holiday season.
With tidings of comfort, joy, and romance, the campaign is a campaign is a simple and strong way to express Ralph Lauren’s elegant take on cozy holiday warmth.
