The season designers agreed that less is more when it came to handbags with designers such as Nicolas Ghesquière at Louis Vuitton to Donatella Versace all showing bite size proportions of handbags. Both Y-Project and Brandon Maxwell took to plastic shells while Balmain, Zimmermann, Max Mara all showed belted packs just large enough to hold a few essentials. Bottega Veneta’s Daniel Lee showed mini-cases with gutsy hardware that matched his jewelry. As a whole, the trend of downsizing works for us to offset the larger scale we saw in terms of shoulder and wide leg trouser.
