Review of Moose Knuckles Fall 2021 Ad Campaign by Moose Knuckles Creative Director Brody Baker and Photographer David LaChapelle with models Emily Ratajkowski, Pete Davidson, and Adwoa Aboah
Moose Knuckles defies the cold with heat and humor in a new campaign for Fall 2021 by photographer David LaChapelle.
Relying on the strong personalities and performance of its star-studded cast – Emily Ratajkowski, Pete Davidson, and Adwoa Aboah – the campaign welcomes winter with a set of tongue-in-cheek photographic vignettes set in an ice-laden city. Ratajkowski surfs a frozen wave; Aboah gets trapped in a snow globe; the whole team goes ice fishing in the sewer; and more.
The styling combines Moose Knuckle’s Canadian-winter-ready jackets with – well, little else actually; our stars wear the jackets over bare torsos and mini skirts, making for a fun play of (figuratively) hot and (literally) cold.
While nobody can compete with the creativity of puffer-jacket giant Moncler, it’s an exciting and interesting development to see another exclusively wintry-outerwear-focused brand rise to the same level of marketing communications and storytelling we see from a lot of luxury brands. Moose Knuckles has also just collaborated with iconic bag maestro Telfar, and they don’t seem to be showing signs of slowing down. They may be made for the cold, but Moose Knuckles is really heating up.
