Nargassi Creative Director Eliran Nargassi enlists photographer Alina Braginski to lens model Jonah Kozlovski for the designers latest outing.
Nargassi, based in Tel Aviv, established his namesake menswear brand in 2013, taking an active part in the renaissance of the menswear fashion scene in Isreal. The campaign features the subtle element of the mezuzah, scrolls that are rolled up and affixed to the doorposts of Jewish homes to fulfill the mitzvah (Biblical commandment) to “write the words of God on the gates and doorposts of your house.”
While most design houses keep religion out of their marketing messages it is refreshing to see Nargassi embrace his. The world is evolving and despite the rich heritage of the Jewish culture and the impact Isaac Singer, Levi Strauss, and Ralph Lauren, far too few recognize how diverse the industry is and the role it has played in supporting economic growth and cultural preservation.
