Oscar De La Renta Launches Its Own Resale Platform ‘Encore’

Oscar de la Renta Enters the Resale Market with ‘Encore,’ Featuring Both Curated Picks and an Open Invitation for Anyone to Buy and Sell

Oscar de la Renta has announced the launch of the brand’s own resale platform. Curated from the archives of clients, collectors, and vintage boutiques, Encore was created with both sustainability and a celebration of the brand’s iconic design heritage in mind. Authenticated by in-house archivists and reconditioned in the house’s atelier, the Encore collection allows customers to shop decades of fashion from our trusted resale partners.

In addition to the curated picks from the brand’s own team, anybody will be able to list their pieces for sale on the website, and can choose between cash payment or store credit. Sellers can also opt to donate proceeds from their sales to one of Oscar de la Renta’s charitable partners: Habitat for Humanity, Dress for Success, World Central Kitchen, or The Colleagues of Los Angeles

With sustainability becoming increasingly important to consumers, the resale market has been taking shape and becoming the place to be over the past few years, with brands like Coach giving shoppers a chance to buy and sell vintage bags, as well as labels like Maison Margiela and Marine Serre brilliantly incorporating upcycled deadstock into their recent collections. With an iconic status and a decades-long heritage of excellent design, Oscar de la Renta is in a position to command a unique section of this space, and the announcement represents a thoughtful move for the future.
