Review of Polo Ralph Lauren “Color Shop” Spring 2021 Ad Campaign
Polo Ralph Lauren shares a colorful new campaign that has us ready to sail into summer.
The campaign celebrates the brand’s Color Shop, which offers classic Polo styles in a wide range of bright colors. Captured on Oahu, the imagery uses the joy of summertime sports traditions to capture these colors in motion.
One set of imagery follows a group of friends as they sail in a Hawaiian canoe, an ancient practice and modern sport. The dynamism of rigging and windswept waves is a great way to show of the energy and practicability of these colorful pieces.
Another storyline follows a group of friends as they longboard down the roads that hug the curves of the island’s mountains. As they whizz past the tropical forest’s green blur, the color blocks of the collection really pop.
By channeling the history of its original relationship with sport, the campaign feels like a strong statement of the identity behind Polo Ralph Lauren – and the color and energy through which this statement is presented has us convinced that this season, there’s no such thing as too much color.
