Review of Ralph Lauren Pre-Spring 2022 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Jack Becht with Photographer Steven Pan with models Ash Foo, Hamid Onifadé, Jasmine Dwye, Jeenu Mahadevan, Lucky Blue Smith, Meghan Roche, Naomi Chin Wing
Ralph Lauren shares a new campaign that welcomes the imminent arrival of spring with color, music, and class. The Pre-Spring 2022 campaign features creative direction from Jack Becht, with photography by Steven Pan and direction by Bon Duke.
Set to an infectiously upbeat swing soundtrack, the short film balances energies of stillness and motion. With lush and elegant backdrops that harmonize with the colors and springtime mood of the collection – historic parks, garden gazebos, cafe patios, tree-lined college campuses, country club dance halls – the characters dance together or simply lounge and enjoy each other’s company.
Though Pan’s straightforward, lookbook-style photographs lack the same fun and high-tempo charm of the short film, their rich palette of warm neutrals and green and sophisticated, preppy aesthetic compliment the imagery of the film nicely.
Classic, cohesive, and classy, the campaign stirs up gorgeous memories of spring times gone by, and has us longing for the time when we can make new ones.
