Roberto Cavalli | to be Special guest at Pitti Uomo 94
Roberto Cavalli is set to join Craig Green as guest designer at Pitti Uomo 94. The Italian label is presenting at the Florentine trade show its first menswear collection by English fashion designer Paul Surridge.
A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Surridge took over as Creative Director of all Roberto Cavalli brands in 2017 and debuted his first-ever collection for the company in Milan in September. The follow-up, his first menswear collection at Cavalli, bookends the designer’s debut at the label and commemorates another year of the near twenty year relationship between Roberto Cavalli, which was established in Florence, and Pitti Uomo.
“The Roberto Cavalli brand was born in Florence and it is only natural that its relaunch goes through this city,” said Gian Giacomo Ferraris – CEO of the Roberto Cavalli Group.
“We are so pleased for the invitation of Paul Surridge as Special Guest at the 94th edition of Pitti Immagine Uomo, marking the launch of his first Roberto Cavalli men collection. Growing menswear is a significant opportunity for our business: Paul’s talent, vision and experience in the context of Pitti Uomo are the perfect platform for its development.”
Surridge joined Roberto Cavalli from Acne Studios, where he served as Creative Consultant, and had past stints at Z Zegna as Creative Director, Burberry, Jil Sander and Calvin Klein.
In addition, Roberto Cavalli joins a number of designers and labels that have been named special guest at Pitti Uomo, including Kenzo, Off-White, Undercover and Gosha Rubchinskiy among others.
