It would appear the global spotlight on the happenings in Korea isn’t the only reason to celebrate the island as Japanese label Sacai has opened its fourth store in Korea, this time in the city of Busan.
The new boutique is located within Shinsegae Centum City, the largest department store in the world, and spans across 275 square feet. White walls and concrete floors surround the space, and the eccentric, antique-looking furniture by Japanese collage/DIY artist GELCHOP emphasizes Sacai’s DNA of hybridization by combining different materials into one piece. Per the brand’s philosophy, the warmth evoked by the wooden vintage furniture and the contrasting sharpness of glass and acrylic prompt a discussion about hybrids with unexpected juxtaposition.
Sacai’s latest store features its women’s collections as well as the 2018 Pre Autumn collection.
