THE THEME
The overarching theme revolved around Chitose Abe’s experimentation with inflated, swollen silhouettes that manipulate the body. There were popped collars, slashed shorts, puffed shirts, corseted underpinnings in nylon, sheer tops, layered trench coats, mini skirts, swollen denim uniforms, mismatched striped button-downs and deconstructed knits.

The combination of army green and cargo pockets with the soft, fluid shape of the top and sheer skirt makes for an effortless look.

Abe’s ability to marry her sharp construction skills with the lightness and ease of her hand is one her strongest suits as a designer which was most evident in the cocoon-like coats and round sleeves on shirts and bomber jackets. The bulky shoes were a perfect offset to many of the short hems and statement tops she showed while staying attuned to women’s wants and needs in a complete and confident wardrobe.
