Savage X Fenty celebrates the beauty of the queer community and highlights their first-ever Pride collection with a new campaign shot by photographer Quil Lemons.
The campaign’s cast is made up of a wide range of talents – dancers, actors, models, influencers, and more – all of whom are members of the LGBTQ+ community. Lemons captures them in a series of expressive studio portraits, with each star posing before a differently colored backdrop. The entire cast also comes together for a powerful ensemble shot.
Pride is all about appreciating your authentic self. I am very excited about this collection and showing love and support to the LGBTQIA+ community, which includes so many of our customers, team members, and fans.
— Rihanna, Creative Director for Savage X Fenty
This mission behind the collection does not just end with the campaign: Savage X Fenty has announced a virtual Pride party for the end of June, with more details to come. Furthermore, through its partnership with the Clara Lionel Foundation, purchase of the Pride Capsule Collection will help support GLAAD, the Audre Lorde Project, The Caribbean Equality Project, INC., Trans Latin@ Coalition, and the Trans Wellness Center make lasting change within their communities.
Many brands use the opportunity of Pride to capitalize on the aesthetics of queer culture, and the approach can often come off as superficial and out of touch. But Savage X Fenty has always been about fearless self-love, liberation, and personal pride, and these ideals are embodied in this campaign. We can see nothing but a sincere expression of love.
