Savage x Fenty has released a Spring 2020 ad campaign starring Normani from the girl group Fifth Harmony. An extension of the brand’s previous campaign, which featured Normani plus Fenty Creative Director Rihanna Robin Fenty, the most recent chapter has a similar girly-girl vibe with a bevy of models representing a range of sizes and skin tones. Designed in collaboration with New York-based fashion designer Adam Selman, the new “Flock-U-Up” collection features rainbow gradients and seductive black lace.
I couldn’t imagine anyone other than Adam [Selman] for Savage X Fenty’s first designer collaboration. Adam is everything the brand stands for – fun, playful, sexy.
— Rihanna, Creative Director of Savage X Fenty
Fenty has been a pioneer in the beauty category since it was the first brand to launch make-up catered to a wide range of skin tones from light to dark, and the brand continues its mission of embracing diversity in the realm of intimates through this curvy and colourful campaign. Gauzy tulle and pastel ostrich feathers serve as props along with multi-coloured wigs and a floral crown for Normani, who is clearly the queen bee of this hive. The short film is like a pop-tart: quick, colourful, and sweet. Furthermore, since lingerie is typically worn behind closed doors, it is still possible to indulge in these confections if you’re the personality type who could benefit from a little pampering while under quarantine.
