“Colour gives me ecstatic pleasure” – Elsa Schiaparelli, Shocking Life (1954)
In accordance with its legacy of collaborations with artists, artisans and talents, Schiaparelli presents Story—its new foray into capsule stories in this digital age. Each individual Story consists of a concise, themed wardrobe of prêt-à-couture and alludes to Schiaparelli’s past, present and future.
Known for her great love of shocking pink, Story #2 maintains relevance as a tribute to the creative vision of the iconic founder.
The campaign is lensed by artist and filmmaker Shana Osborne, a New Zealand native who maintains a background in fine art. Known for her aged hand and blurred aesthetic, Osborne’s work explores the similarities between images in motion, fashion and art. Attracting notable clients such as Mulberry, Martine Rose, Shayne Oliver and Vogue Italia.
Teaming with Stylist meets Art Director Katie Grand, Osborne captured the iconic mother and daughter duo of Lucie de la Falaise and Ella Richards for Story #2. Ella is no stranger to the limelight as she’s the granddaughter of the wild and iconic Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards. Her mother, Lucie de la Falaise, is former model and niece of the late Yves Saint Laurent muse and designer Loulou de la Falaise, as well as the great granddaughter of Maxime de la Falaise—a top model and fashion designer prominent in the Fifties.
The pair is aptly cast in the shocking pink series that rings of 80’s yet speaks to the time when short form digital narrative may never need to be crisp enough to grace a page of print. The strategy of in-and-out stories suits the house that has countless stories from its archives to tell, all likely a little shocking, like the founder herself.
