For his fall 2018 menswear collection Sies Marjan Creative Director Sander Lak enlisted Amsterdam based artisanal photography duo, Blommers & Schumm for the designers lookbook.
The duo, represented by agency Mini Title, took the simple task of showcase the wears to the next level, setting models David Yang, Max Barzack, and Roberto Rossellini against a dramatically colored cloud cyclorama wall. A unique solution as a backdrop to the often ombre fabricated collection.
This season was a lot about fluidity in color translated in degrade and water-paint, like the color spot artwork in the fake fur jacket. And the Sies Marjan menswear collection always starts from my own need and desire of what I want to wear, because I always wear everything myself. Sometimes it’s a really clear garment or shape and sometimes it’s more a mood or idea of color. Regardless, they are all comfortable clothes and loose fitting shirts made in liquid fabrics and oversized pants, because that’s just what I love.
And we love that the house stepped up the game to make a lookbook memorable. Blue skies all around.
