Stella McCartney takes us back to her childhood in one of her most personal ad campaigns yet.
Photographed by Johnny Dufort, the house’s Fall 2018 ad campaign gives us a look into the beautiful landscapes of Scotland’s Mull of Kintyre where memories of Stella’s childhood lay. Nature proves to be at the forefront of this film, as models He Chong, Julia Banas, and Nina Marker dance on the beach, frolic through fields, and discover the place Stella grew up. And the Scottish countryside isn’t the only indicator of where Stella has placed us for this campaign; local talent from the Kintyre School Pipe Band sets the soundtrack for the film, joining the models on the beach and giving us a taste of the sounds of Scotland.
“This season we went to the root of my memories, the place that makes me feel like I’m in every season,” said Stella. “We shot in Campbeltown on the farm where I grew up as a child…It is one of my most emotional ad campaigns ever.”
Be it the sand and the waves, the evergreens, the flowers and honeybees, or the forest, this film truly does make us feel as though each step in a new direction leads to a different season, and Stella has truly whisked us away to Scotland with this campaign.
