With Autumn just around the corner, it’s time to break out the boots that are hiding in the back of your closet…or perhaps buy a brand new pair! Stuart Weitzman (SW) has released a Fall 2020 ad campaign starring Serena Williams, the brand’s new global spokeswoman as well as an award-winning athlete, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and mother, and they aim to entice you with three boot styles: the Parton, Kolbie and Caressa 80.

The Parton goes to the knee with pointed tips, a flared heel and a tube silhouette, whereas the Caressa 80 stops mid-calf and features a square-cut toe with block heel. The Kolbies have a grunge-era-aesthetic circa 1995, with golden eyelets and bad-ass-yet-sophisticated chain-link detailing around the soles. Williams tells us more about her fondness for the SW boots as follows:

I love the way I feel in Stuart Weitzman boots. They’re beautiful and stylish but also so versatile and comfortable, I can pair them with anything and wear them all day! With my busy schedule I need shoes that can transition from day to night, and also allow me to keep up with my daughter.

Williams looks serious yet stunning in all three varieties of SW boots, adding hints of playfulness through her body language; she proves that it’s possible to hop and skip in the Caressa 80s, and stand on one foot in the Partons…feats that are aided by her sporting prowess no doubt, and yet she makes it look so easy that these moves feel accessible to us all. Photographer Ethan James Green and stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson are smart to put William’s athleticism front-and-center with leg-baring luxury leotards; her skin looks flawless and her calves are set off impeccably by the boots’ high-but-not-too-high heels. As any true boot-aficionado knows, comfort is the true mark of quality just as much as a boot’s aesthetic; subsequently the brand is wise to focus its marketing efforts on both style and comfort…and with Williams in their court, they have a winner.
