Thom Browne has a new home in London nestled on Albemarle Street in the Mayfair district. The neighborhood compliments the store; from neighboring art galleries to fellow luxury boutiques.
As a floating spiral staircase greets you upon entering, so do Browne’s signature slat blind clad windows. The monochrome color scheme gives the store a refreshing futuristic feel, which compliments both the décor and collections. The furnishings include Dunbar by Edward Wormley, Jacques Adnet, Paul McCobb, and Maison Jansen. The décor is reminiscent of mid-century office spaces, even down to the florescent lighting details. Bardiglio and Carrara marble provide a beautiful contrast, as do the Calacatta and Carrara floors. The store was designed in collaboration with architect Flavio Albanese of ASA Studioalbanese
The Mayfair store will host Browne’s men’s and women’s ready-to-wear collections, as well as accessories. The location will also exclusively host Browne’s limited edition tennis collection, which debuted recently with a tennis tournament, in celebration of the store’s opening. The players were decked in shrunken white blazers with navy and gold accents, cropped tailored pants, pleated calf length skirts, and terrycloth head/wristbands. Spectators at the event wore white linen suiting, oxford shirts, and shirt dresses which complimented the player’s garb. Although the collection is currently exclusive to the Albemarle Street store, it will soon be available for purchase on Farfetch.com
