Top 10 Shows From London Fashion Week Spring 2023

Again confirming London’s status as the most eclectic and experimental of the “big four” fashion weeks, the city’s Spring 2023 season saw both deep dives into Britain’s long history and forward-thinking visions that considered the future of fashion and humanity’s place in the world. Though for many the week was overshadowed by the news of the Queen’s death, there were many bright moments to be seen as well.

S.S. Daley referenced an iconic queer romance through the love letters of Vita Sackville-West and Virginia Woolf, as well as the former’s dual legacies as writer and gardener, weaving together a poetic, historically minded wardrobe for today’s young lovers.

Meanwhile, JW Anderson delivered a collection that was decidedly deeply influenced by the digital realm, putting his signature skills of trompe-l’oeil trickery and whimsical deconstruction to work in exploring environmentalism and online personae.

Continuing to turn out excellent collections that explore the history of British art through a modern lens, Erdem wowed once again with a poignant and delicately crafted collection, earning our top spot.
