Tory Burch | Celebrates Mother’s Day with Yara & Keri Shahidi
This Mother’s Day, Tory Burch, in partnership with Yara Shahidi, American actress and activist, and her mother, Keri Shahidi, is celebrating the genuine love and affection demonstrated in the unbreakable bond between mother and daughter. The video, entitled “To Mom with Love,” was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Margaret Zhang.
Yara and Keri are featured interacting in different day-to-day life settings wearing looks from the Tory Burch and Tory Sport collections. Keri is captured as a mother that has a want to know about her daughter’s generation and is actively in conversation with Yara about it. The irreplaceable connection between the two of them, as mother and daughter, is expressed though this mutual understanding as well as shared experiences, in an authentic and intimate way. The warm, whole-hearted relationship of Yara and Keri is parallel to that of Tory and her mother, Reva Robinson. Reva is Tory’s inspiration in not only her business but also in her life.
Three multi-talented women were brought together in the creation of this video. Yara is most recognized for her work on the sitcom “Black-ish” and its spin-off series “Grown-ish.” As a young activist, she is both politically engaged and purpose driven. Yara recently launched “Eighteen x ’18” as an initiative to mobilize young people to vote in the upcoming midterm elections in the United States. Most recently, she opened the Tory Burch Foundation’s Embrace Ambition Summit in NYC, on April 24th, in an on-stage conversation with Tory Burch. Keri is both an actress and entrepreneur all while being a mother of three. Margaret, who founded the influential style blog “Shine by Three,” is a photographer, stylist, and entrepreneur.
