Tory Burch Donates $5M in Products To United Healthcare Workers East

Tory Burch partnered with 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, the largest healthcare workers’ union, to donate products to those on the front lines of the crisis

Tory Burch has been busy, between her ongoing efforts to support women entrepreneurs and small businesses to navigate funds available to them through the recently-passed stimulus, and her lobbying on behalf of the fashion industry and the CFDA, the designer has had her hands full since the COVID-19 crisis began.

And her efforts, and those of her firm, are not slowing down as the designer has recently donated 24,000 items, worth $5 million, to 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East. The items were chosen by UHWE based on what would most useful to their members be it sneakers, belt bags or comfortable clothes to wear under scrubs.

1199SEIU healthcare workers are the soldiers on the frontlines of this fight against COVID-19. We appreciate Tory Burch for thinking of our members as they continue to provide their patients with the critical care needed to save lives.

– George Gresham, President of 1199SEIU

We have the utmost respect and admiration for the women and men on the front lines of this crisis. They are risking their lives for us all—I am in awe of their courage. As COVID-19 is highly infectious, healthcare workers must constantly wash and change what they wear under scrubs. It has been difficult to distribute products on this scale so we are thrilled to be able to partner with 1199SEIU to get these items directly into the hands of the people who need them most.

Masks & Hospital Gowns:

In addition to the clothing donations, Tory Burch is also contributing 3,000 yards of fabric to be made into face masks for healthcare workers and hospital gowns for patients in partnership with Catholic Health Services of Long Island, which services six New York hospitals.
