‘We Are Family’ is at the heart of Donatella Versace’s latest Versace fall campaign featuring a diverse cast of 54 talents in the houses longest-ever advertising image.

That image, concepted by Creative Ad Campaign Director Ferdinando Verderi, and lensed by Steven Meisel, may be the fashion’s longest ad campaign image ever and speaks to a day when size does matter.

‘Saying something’ is the hallmark of a strong campaign concept in an era of social Ferdinando Verderi is quickly becoming fashion’s go-to creative director to capitalize on it. Having teamed with Versace on their spring campaign, he has once again found a way to create a story that others will talk about. No easy feat for a sophomore effort and one he does here by the simplest of solutions, scale. However the solution is not a solution for solution sake, it is a solution 100% aligned with the house’s DNA, as Versace was founded on having powerful relations with models and clean imagery lensed by Richard Avedon on white seamless.

Creative Director Donatella Versace has been at the helm of the house her brother founded now longer than he. Props goes to the designer for not only maintaining the legacy of the house but leading it to be multi-generational and understanding that one’s family includes their customers. That family likely has a good deal of narrative to share this season, starting with how to pronounce Versace in this season first film below.

The Impression anticipates a season full of videos hopefully leading up to the holidays where families once again come together to be grateful for each other. Wonder who is cooking?
