On February 15, 2023, Miu Miu premiered the short film ‘EYE TWO TIMES MOUTH’ written and directed by Lila Avilés, celebrating the 25th edition of Miu Miu Women’s Tales.
The screening of the film took place at the Curzon Mayfair Cinema, customised for the occasion and the scene of stories, sharing and debates between the new director and an intimate audience. This was followed by a dinner at the Mount St. Restaurant, to bring together talents and celebrate cinema in all its forms.
Miu Miu further hosted a series of conversations and screenings involving past Women’s Tales directors Janicza Bravo, Isabel Sandoval and Malgorzata Szumowska at 5 Hertford Street (a private English members club). The subjects explored by them, alongside multi-disciplinary panelists and moderators, were: the role of protagonists off-screen, on-screen and behind the scenes; portraits, carte blanche, identity and the female gaze and, finally, the meaning of the word ‘artist’ in an age of ‘content’.
International guests attended the London event, amongst others Mily Alcock, Patricia Allison, Lila Avilés, Beabadoobee, Millie Brady, Janicza Bravo, Jessica Brown Findlay, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Raffey Cassidy, Camille Charriere, Dolly De Leon, Yasmin Finney, Pixie Geldof, Laura Haddock, Kathryn Newton, Nico Parker, Bel Powley, Isabel Sandoval, Alison Sudol, Malgorzata Szumowska, Katherine Waterston.
