Review of Gucci ‘Valigeria’ 2023 Ad Campaign with Photographer Hanna Moon with talent Jungjae Lee
In the second chapter of the Gucci Valigeria campaign, award-winning actor and Global Brand Ambassador Jungjae Lee takes a journey to where the story of the House begins—The Savoy. It is precisely at this historic London hotel that a young Guccio Gucci, while working as a porter and observing the international jet set that crossed the lobby, became inspired to create his own luggage atelier upon his return to Florence.
With emblematic designs in hand, Jungjae Lee ventures throughout the storied locale, portraying how the House has expanded upon the original vision to craft ingeniously designed luggage over the past 102 years. He is captured in front of The Savoy’s iconic marquee and within the hotel’s flagship Royal Suite by Gucci, currently furnished with pieces from the Gucci Décor collection. An exploration of the House’s present as much as its past, the campaign spotlights how the founding narrative continues to persist within the Gucci Valigeria collection.
Imagery showcases styles from the heritage-infused Gucci Savoy line—a nod to the significant role of the hotel in Gucci’s history—as well as the new Gucci Porter selection of GG monogram and Web-embellished aluminum travel pieces created in collaboration with FPM Milano, including the Italian luxury luggage-maker’s signature Bank trolley.
To showcase the House’s luggage legacy in a dedicated store, it has opened a permanent Gucci Valigeria boutique located at 229 Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris. Drawing inspiration from travel during the Belle Époque, the refined and intimate space evokes the atmosphere of an elegant vintage railway carriage to showcase a curated selection from the House’s travel offering.
