Officine Générale

Fall 2023 Ad Campaign

Review of Officine Générale Fall 2023 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Pierre Mahéo with Photographer Laurence Ellis with models Maggie Maurer and Niels Trispel

Officine Générale explores a quieter side of Parisian style with its new Fall 2023 campaign by image director Nina Mahéo and photographer Laurence Ellis.

The campaign creates a strong sense of character and narrative through just a few considered elements. Models Maggie Maurer and Niels Trispel embody a couple who, though we can’t point exactly to why, seem to be artists. Ellis’ photographs follow them from their timeless studio to the streets of Paris, presenting a more grounded and homey perspective on the city of lights compared to the overt idealism we tend to see in capital-F Fashion campaigns. Rounding out the story is the styling, which is both quintessentially French and artfully personal.

“Following our Monochromania Fall Winter 2023 show, I wanted to capture Pierre’s “obsession” with his two favorite colors, Navy and Grey. Repositioning tailoring in an urban environment was a natural choice, and so was Paris, our beloved city.”

– Nina Mahéo, Officine Générale Image Director

Though Officine Générale had been successfully making quietly beautiful clothes for ten years, its Fall 2022 campaign last year was the first ad campaign it put out. You wouldn’t be able to tell that the brand has only been in the campaign game for a year though; it has already established a consistent and recognizable visual identity in keeping with its soulful and minimal practice of creating new French classics.
