LVMH Celebrates Artistry and Craftsmanship with the Third Edition of “SHOW ME Paris” and Unveiling of the Pioneering Maison des Métiers d’Excellence
This week, the eminent luxury conglomerate, LVMH, graced the fashion and craftsmanship industry with its third rendition of “SHOW ME Paris,” a remarkable dedication to the métiers d’art. Aligned with the national Métiers d’Arts blueprint set by French authorities, the fashion powerhouse spotlighted its proactive approach towards upholding Métiers d’Excellence.
Held at the esteemed Salle Pleyel, the 2023 edition of “SHOW ME Paris” showcased the LVMH Group’s unwavering commitment to preserving the transmission of rare skills and savoir-faire across generations. With a stunning audience of over 1,400, the event delved into the vast realm of LVMH’s educational efforts, boasting nearly 360 global training programs spanning leather goods, fashion design, and client advisory.
A pivotal announcement emerged: the conception of the Maison des Métiers d’Excellence in Paris. This architectural marvel, expected to be unveiled in late 2025, will not only epitomize the expertise of LVMH’s esteemed Maisons to the public but also manifest as a hub for training, creativity, and dialogue among its prodigious talents. Craftswoman Hannah Lévesque provided a sneak peek with her model of the venue, revealing tantalizing details such as a café, a library, and interactive craft workshops.
Director of Human Resources & Synergies at LVMH, Chantal Gaemperle, extolled the group’s forward-thinking vision, “LVMH remains a beacon of perpetual learning. Our Métiers d’Excellence initiative underscores our stance as a global frontrunner in knowledge transmission.”
The evening was adorned with rich narratives, heartfelt testimonials, and evocative performances. Notable speakers, from Bernard Arnault, LVMH’s CEO, to celebrated actor Lambert Wilson, shared insights and stories, emphasizing the vitality of these métiers d’art.
Diverse visual mediums enriched the event. Clips from the web series “Fiers de nos Métiers d’Excellence,” helmed by Emmanuelle Gaume, illuminated the screen. This, paired with the announcement of the international expansion of the Métiers d’Excellence apprentice contest, “the MasterGaMEs,” further accentuated LVMH’s commitment to fostering talent.
As the night drew to a close, LVMH recognized its latest generation of artisans. Brooches crafted by Tiffany adorned the third batch of LVMH Virtuoso, while the Institut des Métiers d’Excellence honored its accomplished apprentices.
The evening culminated in an immersive exhibition that took attendees on a journey through the realm of Métiers d’Excellence. The unveiling of three “savoir-faire trunks,” representing Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, and Hublot, symbolized LVMH’s mission to make craftsmanship accessible, interactive, and wondrous.
With this event, LVMH reinforced its status not just as a global luxury leader but as a devoted guardian of artistry, craftsmanship, and the invaluable legacy of métiers d’art.
