Review of Coperni Holiday 2023 Ad Campaign by Creative Directors Charles Levai and Kevin Tekinel with Photographer Charly Gosp
While Coperni’s campaigns and runway shows tend to be characterized by an ambitious use of technology, the brand’s holiday campaign instead makes it impact with a softer guest feature: adorable baby kittens. The cute campaign features creative direction by Charles Levai and Kevin Tekinel and was lensed by photographer Charly Gosp.
In front of a simple studio backdrop that brings up memories of picture day at school, a cohort of adorable tiny kittens frolic among artificial snow, Christmas baubles, and giftable accessories. Some images see the kittens just looking cute, while others go over the top by putting them into little vignettes of human activities, like drinking martinis or hanging their clothes up to air dry. One kitten even models a tiny version of the brand’s distinctive horn hoody – a product that doesn’t yet exist in cat size, but demand is about to go up.
Coperni’s penchant for unique campaign formats meant we could expect a unique take on the holiday gifting campaign, but this unexpected feline direction feels sweet, surprising, and totally fitting. Fuzzy tiny kittens are definitely cuter than robot dogs. Meow-ry Christmas!
