Kosé America Welcomes Chinae Kim as Vice President

As Vice President, Chinae Kim will amplify the Japanese approach to beauty and wellness, steering Kosé America’s strategic initiatives in North America

Kosé America has appointed Chinae Kim as its inaugural Vice President, where she will spearhead sales and marketing initiatives in North America. As a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Kosé Corp., the company boasts a portfolio featuring renowned brands like Decorté, Sekkisei, and the U.S. debutant color cosmetics brand, Addiction Tokyo, introduced at Bloomingdale’s last fall.

Kim, formerly responsible for marketing Sulwhasoo and other Amorepacific brands at Amorepacific U.S., and leading Laneige’s expansions into the U.S. and Canada in 2014 and 2015, respectively, will report directly to Takayuki Morimatsu, the CEO of Kosé America. In her new role, Kim’s primary objectives include enhancing consumer loyalty in the U.S. market and amplifying the Japanese approach to wellness and beauty.

Takayuki Morimatsu expressed enthusiasm about Kim’s addition, stating, “As we look to drive rapid growth in the region, her wealth of experience will help strengthen brand relevance across all our channels and accelerate the brands forward.”

Kosé Corp. has ambitious plans for the U.S. market, aiming to quadruple its business by 2026. The company secured the 20th position on Beauty Inc’s list of the top 100 beauty manufacturers in 2022, with $2.21 billion in sales, marking a 7.5 percent increase compared to 2021.
