Review of Tod’s Pre-Spring 2024 Ad Campaign by Creative Directors Charles Levai and Kevin Tekinel and Photographer Karim Sadli with models Lola Bahia, Walid Fiher, and Quentin Demeester
Tod’s explores a vision of quintessentially Italian elegance with its new Pre-Spring 2024 campaign, which features creative direction from Charles Levai and Kevin Tekinal with photography by Karim Sadli.
The campaign is titled “A Mediterranean Story,” and indeed it feels just like that. At once nostalgic and contemporary, Sadli’s imagery its characters through a quiet Italian coastal town, exuding a feeling of sophistication and contentment. The setting is a perfect backdrop for the Pre-Spring collection, which quietly evolves the brand’s contemporary take on Italian craft classics.
Since the announcement of the departure of successful creative director Walter Chiapponi, Tod’s is in that tricky interim period of creative uncertainty until new creative director Matteo Tamburini shares his debut collection in February. Yet the brand is in the fortunate position of always sticking close to a classic aesthetic that feels timeless yet always contemporary and relevant. This campaign shows that Tod’s is wise in selecting collaborators to bring this practice to life in a direct and accessible yet fresh way.
