Burke Will Lead the LVMH Fashion Group, While Toledano Pivots to be Special Advisor to CEO Bernard Arnault
Two of the fashion industry’s leading executives, Michael Burke and Sydney Toledano, are set to shift into new positions at LVMH.
Burke will succeed Toledano at the head of LVMH Fashion Group. Meanwhile, Toledano will depart the LVMH executive committee and take on a new role as adviser to LVMH chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault, a responsibility he will take up alongside roles at the Paris fashion school IFM and the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.
The shift takes effect on February 1st, 2024, and completes one of the biggest internal shakeups at LVMH in recent memory. This process one year ago when Burke stepped down as chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton after a successful 10-year tenure, handing the baton to then-Dior chairman and CEO Pietro Beccari, who in turn was succeeded at Dior by Delphine Arnault.
Toledano served as the CEO of Christian Dior Couture for several years before taking on his current role at the head of LVMH Fashion Group in 2018. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the fashion and leather goods division of LVMH, which includes iconic brands like Louis Vuitton, Dior, and Givenchy. Toledano has been known for his significant contributions to the luxury fashion industry and has played a crucial role in the success of LVMH’s fashion portfolio.
Burke has been associated with LVMH for a number of years and has held various key positions within the group. He served as the CEO of Bulgari before taking on the role of Chairman and CEO of Louis Vuitton in 2012. Burke has been instrumental in driving the growth and success of Louis Vuitton, overseeing the brand’s expansion and maintaining its status as one of the world’s leading luxury fashion houses.
