Tory Burch Collaborates with Humberto Leon for LA Pop-Up

The Boutique Marks a Playful Departure From the Brand’s Typical Store Style

Though the Rodeo Drive Tory Burch boutique may be under renovation through the fall, the brand is still making its presence felt in Los Angeles with a new pop-up location designed in collaboration with creative director and retailer Humberto Leon.

Drawing inspiration from her resort 2024 collection, which incorporated whimsical black-and-white animal portraits by German photographer Walter Schels, the space marks a departure from Tory Burch’s typical approach to store design. Large-scale prints and playful projections develop the cat portrait motif, while the space is blanketed in wall-to-wall – and sometimes floor-to-ceiling – shag carpet. Pink ceramic furniture was specially commissioned by Leon from commissioned Aranza Garcia of Church Estudio in Mérida, Mexico.

Humberto Leon

Leon is best known as a co-founder of Opening Ceremony, but his recent exploits have ranged launching and designing restaurants to creative directing the look for a new international pop girl group, Katseye.

The store will be open through the end of 2024. Local neighbors include Bottega Veneta, Glossier, and Melrose Place’s Gucci Salon. The store will also be the first place fans of the brand will be able to shop the designer’s Spring 2024 collection, including a modernized hoop dress that went viral after being worn by Hailey Bieber on the brand’s Instagram.
