Martine Rose and Clarks Launch Selfridges Pop-Up

The Designer’s Shoe Collaboration is Spotlighted in the London Department Store

Martine Rose and Clarks have launched a special in-store pop-up activation, debuting at Selfridges London. The partnership marked the first-ever time the footwear brand teamed with a guest creative director.

The experiential pop-up space has been transformed into a series of nostalgic bedrooms broguth to life by set designer Polly Philp and is called “Coming Up Roses.” Rose was inspired by Clark’s “soft as a mattress” slogan that it was known for in the 80s, and seeks to inspire a haven of softness that contrasts with the often overwhelming experience of department store shopping.

That idea of pillowy softness also characterizes the collaborative collection itself, which saw the designer put a voluminous, puffer-like spin on some of the brand’s classic shoe silhouettes. The collection debuted as part of Martine Rose’s Spring 2024 runway show, which was held off-calendar in London. \

Following its Selfridges debut, the Martine Rose x Clarks installation will travel to Concept in New York; Voo Store in Berlin; Chamber in Singapore, and Tun Razak Exchange in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
