Iconic Vegan “It” Bag Celebrated in New Ad Featuring Cara Delevingne
Stella McCartney has launched a new campaign featuring Cara Delevingne to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the brand’s pioneering vegan “It” bag, the Falabella. The campaign showcases a nude Delevingne posing with an XXL Falabella bag, highlighting the bag’s enduring appeal and ethical fashion credentials since its debut in fall 2009.
The Falabella bag, named after McCartney’s favorite pony breed from her childhood in the British countryside, has become a staple in fashion circles, favored by celebrities like Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Kate Hudson for its style and sustainability.

Each season, the Falabella is reimagined using innovative materials. Recent iterations include Mirum, a plant-based leather alternative, Vegea, derived from Italian winery by-products, and Yatay, a textile made from agricultural waste and recycled fibers. These bags are also notable for their monogrammed lining made from ocean plastics and hand-laced with organic cotton rope, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to environmental consciousness.
Over the years, the Falabella has been featured in various high-profile campaigns with models such as Natalia Vodianova and Amber Valletta and has seen special editions by artists like Urs Fischer, Gary Hume, Hajime Sorayama, and collaborations with Disney.

In celebration of the anniversary, McCartney has announced “Falabella Stellabration,” a series of global events and the release of four limited-edition Falabella styles. These new designs incorporate elements like fringes, lead-free crystals, silver studs, and a crackled silver metallic finish, underscoring the bag’s versatility and ongoing innovation.
The anniversary collection will be available worldwide both online and in Stella McCartney stores starting Thursday, continuing the brand’s legacy of blending high fashion with ethical and sustainable practices.
