Chanel Unveils Renovated Boutique at Tysons Galleria Mall
The Washington, D.C., area is set to welcome the opening of Chanel’s newly revamped boutique at Tysons Galleria Mall. Designed by Peter Marino, the new 5,000-square-foot boutique is significantly larger than its predecessor, which originally opened in 2004. The new location features 10 salon spaces dedicated to showcasing Chanel’s fashion, watches, fine jewelry, fragrance, and beauty products.
Rebekah McCabe, Chanel’s U.S. general manager for fashion, expressed, “We want our clients to enjoy that experience of feeling immersed in the Chanel environment when they come to shop with us.” The Tysons Galleria boutique stands as one of two Chanel locations in the Washington area.
Marino’s design for the boutique incorporates warm neutral tones accented with gold and black, custom woven textiles, and a collection of art pieces. Drawing inspiration from Gabrielle Chanel’s love for the arts, Marino selected furniture, paintings, and sculptures that reflect the legendary designer’s taste.
The boutique’s interior seamlessly blends modern art with antiques, featuring works by notable artists like Peter Dayton and Agnes Martin. Custom lighting designed by Chanel’s longtime partner Goossens adds a touch of luxury throughout the space.
One of the architectural highlights of the boutique is its textured and pleated stone wall, which stylistically aligns with the brand’s other D.C. area boutique at City Center. McCabe highlighted the significance of having two strong Chanel locations in the region, noting that each boutique caters to different clienteles.
Beyond its retail presence, Chanel has also invested in cultural partnerships in Washington. The company hosts an annual women’s luncheon at the Hirshhorn Museum, a highly anticipated event on the capital’s social calendar. Additionally, Chanel recently sponsored the “Brilliant Exiles: American Women in Paris, 1900-1939” exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery.
