A Fusion of Psychedelic Minimalism in Fashion
The renowned Parisian fashion brand A.P.C., celebrated for its chic and minimalistic designs, announced Interaction #25: Tame Impala, which will be available globally online and in stores on July 18th. This latest collaboration in A.P.C.’s ongoing series features a unique blend of “psychedelic minimalism,” curated by Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, aligning perfectly with the band’s vibrant and immersive sonic world.
“When my daughter introduced me to Tame Impala,” recalls A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou, “it struck me as a synthesis of everything I’ve liked since the 1960s, from Soft Machine to Pink Floyd. I immediately loved their musical singularity and their deceptively casual style.” The collection reflects Parker’s bold creative vision through A.P.C.’s refined minimalist design, bridging the analog and modern influences in both music and fashion.
Kevin Parker’s inspirations for the capsule include post-hippie communes and 70’s Australia intentional-living communities, alongside his meditation practice. This influence is evident in the collection’s loose, flowing silhouettes and muted pastel tones. Sustainably sourced heavyweight jersey, fleece, and denim pieces can be worn tone-on-tone or mixed and matched, featuring pastel yellow, pink, and charcoal gray hues obtained using environmentally-safe mineral dyes.
Highlight pieces include multicolored alpaca sweaters, striped cotton corduroy trousers, logo-branded accessories, and a T-shirt with the Tame Impala song title “breathe deeper.” The collection also offers unisex items such as a cream padded jersey sweatshirt and jogging pants, and a dark navy blue jersey jacket with wave-like quilting, available in sizes XXS to XXL. The collection will be released on Thursday, July 18th, 2024, at 8 AM EST / 5 AM PT / 2 PM CET online and in stores.
