Dior’s Annual Summer Pop-Up at Harrods Includes 175 Limited-Edition Bags to Mark the Anniversary
Dior is unveiling its annual summer pop-up at Harrods, which this summer coincides with a celebration of the store’s 175th anniversary. The pop-up features 175 limited-edition bags, including exclusive Miss Dior styles and Book Totes. The line is inspired by ’60s fashion and women’s liberation.
The pop-up will run until August 25, showcasing the Fall 2024 collection, including shoes, leather goods, sunglasses, textile accessories, and jewelry. This tradition marks the enduring relationship between Dior and Harrods, dating back to 1953.
The pop-up includes a variety of colorful Miss Dior bags and sculptures featuring the latest bags. The collection pays homage to Dior’s first ready-to-wear line, Miss Dior, from 1967. Creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri draws from past inspirations to create modern designs.
The Fall 2024 collection features slogan-style trenchcoats and skirts inspired by 1968 student protests. Dior is not the only luxury brand marking Harrods’ 175th anniversary, as the store hosts various events and installations to celebrate the milestone.
Harrods also curated a special anniversary collection of bears and collaborated with luxury brands like Burberry and Valentino. The store’s managing director, Michael Ward, aims to celebrate Harrods’ unique brand and its role in British culture and history. Extending the anniversary festivities, Harrods has had Burberry take over the store with its signature color, with plans for Loro Piana to follow suit for the holiday season. The Italian luxury brand will open two permanent stores at Harrods during its takeover.
