THE VIBE

Vulnerability. Resilience. Emergence.

The Attico Spring 2025 Fashion Show
The Showstopper

After exploding onto the Italian fashion scene a few years ago and taking to the runway even more recently, The Attico’s founding creative duo of Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini continue to get bigger and better. For Spring 2025, they draw on shared personal experiences of challenge and growth to deliver their most intimate and thoughtful collection yet.

Titled “The Sound of Breaking Glass,” the show unfolded in a cavernous industrial space hung with dozens of delicate crystal chandeliers – a visual tension that formed a fitting backdrop for the collection’s dual themes of fragility and strength. Both ends of the spectrum of the brand’s balance of streetwear cool and high-femme flirtatiousness were pushed to new extremes. On the one hand were sheer and shimmering layers of lightness, cascading crystals, structures drawn from lingerie. On the other, expansive and boldly restructured takes on tough athletic outerwear (including a collaboration with Nike).

Sometimes the jumps between these two moods felt whiplash-inducing and didn’t quite cohere together, but in the collection’s best moments they came together symbiotically in striking silhouettes that suggested a beautiful new entity emerging from its oversized and protective chrysalis.

THE QUOTE

We both went through a breakup at around the same time. It rarely happens that women in fashion talk about fragility, so we thought it was time to address that and to communicate vulnerability. We translated these feelings through the lightness of the dresses, the delicacy of the chandeliers, the idea of resilience and transformation coming through the balance of our feminine codes and the strength of sportswear.”

THE WRAP UP

The design partnership between two women creating clothes for the kind of women they are and know is perhaps The Attico’s defining strength, and here they push this strength further by incorporating a genuine reflection on personal journeys into that practice. Not every look hits a holistic balance, but it’s exciting to watch the brand grow and push the aspect of dualism and multiplicity at its heart as it digs deeper and moves forward.
