Holiday 2024 Ad Campaign

Review of Prada Holiday 2024 Ad Campaign by Creative Director Ferdinando Verderi and Photographer Willy Vanderperre with models Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, KARINA, and Louis Partridge

Prada’s Holiday 2024 campaign invites us to a lavish dinner party, where the festive spirit unfolds across a meticulously crafted tablescape. With fine china, crystal, and confections from Marchesi 1824, the campaign thoughtfully weaves Prada’s heritage into the very fabric of the celebration. The objects on the table—handbags tucked between porcelain plates and Panettone adorned with bears—become symbols not just of luxury, but of playful sophistication, blurring the lines between utility and ornament.

Photographed by Willy Vanderperre, the campaign’s imagery feels both whimsical and refined, with an ensemble cast that brings together talent from across the globe: Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, KARINA of aespa, and Louis Partridge. The diverse group subtly reflects Prada’s growing dialogue with different cultural spheres, adding depth to the campaign’s global narrative. At the same time, the inclusion of Prada’s ‘Trick’ robots as quirky, life-sized dining companions injects a touch of humor and surrealism, further enriching the celebratory mood.

What is striking about the campaign is how effortlessly it bridges tradition with contemporary flair. The use of iconic house patterns and signature Prada colors transposed onto homeware extends the brand’s identity beyond clothing, reaffirming its commitment to lifestyle. Yet, amidst the grandeur, there is a warmth—an emphasis on togetherness, conviviality, and the quiet pleasure of shared experiences.

The campaign doesn’t rely on spectacle alone. It reflects Prada’s understanding that luxury today is as much about creating moments of connection and joy as it is about aesthetics. Though the visual language is undeniably opulent, there is a playful humility in the details: the slightly askew handbag, the cheerful Panettone, and the unexpected robot guest. These elements prevent the campaign from feeling too self-serious, inviting us to see luxury not just as an ideal, but as something to be enjoyed and shared.

By balancing tradition and modernity, elegance and whimsy, Prada’s Holiday 2024 campaign offers more than just a seasonal collection—it creates a space where personal expression, global connections, and festive joy come together in perfect harmony.
