Valentine's Day 2025 Campaign

Review of Courrèges Valentine’s Day 2025 Ad Campaign by Photographer Stef Mitchell

Courrèges evokes the consuming power of love with a focused campaign in celebration of Valentine’s Day. The visually minimal yet emotionally maximal campaign was shot by photographer Stef Mitchell.

The campaign continues to explore the graphic minimalism and expansive use of white space that has characterized the brand’s recent campaigns, but makes clever and intimate use of the body to craft striking compositions that feel almost reminiscent of Magritte’s painting “The Lovers” or Munch’s “The Kiss.” Swathed in a single sculptural leather jacket, their faces obscured, two lovers kiss. Standing in a single oversized pair of sweatpants, one to each leg, two lovers embrace. Tangled together in a red sweater, two bodies become one.

Since Aristophanes’ speech in Plato’s Symposium and even earlier, much has been said about love as the desire for two bodies to become one. With this campaign, Courrèges beautifully translates that idea into a powerful fashion image, at once emphasizing a distinct brand and design identity while tapping into universal emotional truths. It’s a (more-than-welcome) far cry from pink lace and paper hearts, and we’re once again impressed that the brand can make such a big impact with such a minimal visual perspective.
