Design includes foldable heel tabs, zigzag stitching, and trekking-style laces
Golden Goose has released its latest sneaker design, the True-Star, characterized by a reinterpretation of the brand’s classic Super-Star silhouette. Drawing on aesthetics from late 1960s running shoes, the design incorporates a number of updated details including a square-effect toe cap, a foldable heel tab, and exposed zigzag stitching along the heel, intended to reflect movement and variability.
The sneakers feature mismatched trekking-style laces with extended ends, a soft leather lining, and a sole that appears clean at the tip but shows textural wear through the midsole and tread. Intentional aging effects are applied to the materials, following the brand’s established design direction. The Golden Goose star logo remains unaltered on each shoe.
The True-Star is being introduced in several colorways: a gender-neutral white nappa leather version with a gold-foiled star and white toe cap, a tobacco brown suede version with a white leather star, and a pastel pink suede edition exclusive to the women’s range, featuring a silver star and dark gray leather detail at the heel. Each pair is sold with two extra sets of laces.
A video campaign featuring professional tennis player Jasmine Paolini accompanies the launch. Paolini discusses personal values and her interpretation of authenticity, stating: “For me, being authentic means having values I believe in and always pursuing them. Honesty is incredibly important to me, as well as doing the right thing. I always strive to act with integrity towards others around me.”
Commenting on her connection with the brand, she added: “Every step of this journey has shaped me, and I’m excited for what’s ahead. As an Italian athlete, being part of the Golden Goose family feels special, and I’m proud to share these values with a brand that stays true to itself—just like I do.”
The True-Star collection is available through the brand’s website and in selected Golden Goose stores globally.
