The jewelry brand continues its promotion of art and literature
Luxury jewelry house Van Cleef and Arpels’ L’ECOLE, School of Jewelry Arts, is partnering with Italian publishing house Franco Maria Ricci to launch Dédale, a series of republished literary works with ties to the worlds of jewelry, precious stones and the arts as a whole.
Dédale, named after the Greek craftsman Daedalus, will debut with three titles: Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, The Invisible Collection by Stefan Zweig, and Laura: A Journey into the Crystal by George Sand. The brand plans to add two new volumes to the series twice each year, ranging from well-known works to obscure texts. Each edition will also include a foreword by a renowned author, an introduction by an expert at L’ÉCOLE, and illustrations tailored to the identity of the specific work.
The collection is part of the brand’s ongoing literary inspiration, and also aligns with the mission of L’ECOLE, which it founded in 2012 with the goal of disseminating the culture of jewelry, art, and literature around the globe and which has since released 60 publications, as well as held multiple free exhibitions. In keeping with the motif of accessible enlightenment, the books in the Dédale series will be translated into French, English and Italian.
